Homeless Services

In the greater Omaha area, at least one-third and, by some estimates, over half of those who are homeless are also experiencing a major mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder.  Reaching out to these individuals is the focus of Community Alliance’s homeless services.  We collaborate with area emergency shelters and other human services organizations to offer a helping hand and the first steps back to mental health, financial, and residential stability.

Our approach is unique and very individualized and we can offer assistance in obtaining emergency food, shelter, and clothing, accessing initial mental health diagnostic and treatment services as well as other social services, and seeking out and maintaining safe and affordable housing.

If you know someone who is homeless and has a mental illness that we may be able to help, please contact us at 402-341-5128.
